A family, first and foremost

Bado Tartufi grew out of a love for the land, respect for the woods and a tradition passed down from generation to generation with pride and dedication.

We are a family before we are a business. Every truffle we select tells our story: quiet dawns in the woods of Alta Langa, hands in the soil and a true passion for an age-old craft we carry on with authenticity.

We believe in the value of time, patience and a deep understanding of our land. We seek products that reflect who we are: authentic, carefully selected and rooted in our territory.

Owner & Founder — Third generation

Diego Bado

Born on 12 December 1992, Diego represents the contemporary spirit of Bado Tartufi. Raised on family stories and the unmistakable aroma of freshly unearthed truffles, he chose to combine his inherited tradition with a modern business outlook and authentic communication.

Meticulous and creative, he gives every aspect of the business his full attention, from rigorous product selection and commercial management to building a strong, recognisable brand. His work also takes him into the woods: he is an active truffle hunter, because for him truffles are something to live, breathe and understand from within.

He believes in uncompromising excellence, the courage to make different choices and the importance of standing out. His philosophy is simple and bold: better to be unique than invisible.

For Diego, Bado Tartufi is a lifelong commitment, pursued with the same determination his father and grandfather have always brought to their work in the woods.

Keeper of tradition — Expert truffle hunter

Gabriele Bado

Born on 5 May 1953, Gabriele is the living memory and beating heart of the Bado family. Warm, wise, always ready with a joke and a welcoming smile, he is considered the family's finest truffle hunter, and probably one of the most experienced and respected in all of Alta Langa.

He has devoted his life to the woods, developing a rare instinct for truffle hunting: a connection with nature and an ability to read the land that only decades of experience can teach. Gabriele knows where and when to search, and how to move among the trees without disturbing the undergrowth's delicate balance.

With his green fingers and deep knowledge of mycorrhiza, he has played a key role in establishing and caring for our cultivated truffle grounds, combining oral tradition, practical experience and absolute respect for nature's rhythms.

For Gabriele, a truffle is the fruit of a relationship between people, dogs and the land, requiring patience, humility and complete dedication.

Organisation & craftsmanship

Luciana Raimondi

Born on 31 October 1959, Luciana is the quiet, steady and determined force behind Bado Tartufi's day-to-day operations. Tirelessly versatile, she is an experienced truffle hunter and an essential part of the business's daily life.

She cares for our truffle dogs with passion and expertise. They are true hunting companions and members of the family, receiving her constant attention, care and training. Truffle hunting would be impossible without them, and Luciana treats them with the respect they deserve.

Her role goes much further. She personally oversees every gift box, every shipment and every detail that turns a product into an experience. She makes sure each parcel is perfect, arrives intact and meets the quality standards the Bado family has upheld from the start.

Her care is behind every box we send and every satisfied customer. Luciana works behind the scenes, but without her nothing would run with the same precision.

Her contribution is felt in the care, quality and consistency she brings to her work every day, with absolute dedication.
